Everyone wants to save money, right? I find that saving money isn’t just about coupon clipping. Personally I don’t like to spend much time clipping coupons, because I could be working and making a better return on investment. But I do spend a lot of time making sure whatever purchase I’m going to make will be worth it, or checking quickly to see if I can find better deals.
These money saving websites are here to help.
Woot.com
Woot has been a go to place for my friends and I to find great deals. They offer only one item at a time and have a time limit for each, but they offer some amazing deals. I also keep checking back for woot-offs where there are short time limits for each product in a given day, so they offer a bunch of products in one day. It’s just a fun site to visit too!
The Coupon Clippers
While I haven’t yet used Coupon Clippers, they are the nations largest online clipping service for coupons. You can search through their inventory of manufacturer coupons and order them for a few cents each. I’ll be trying them out soon. It seems a lot easier to have them sent to me, than to scour the web for hours looking for coupons I might actually use!
Prizey.net
Prizey.net lists all of the giveaways from various blogs you can enter. While it doesn’t save you money, it gives you chances to win some great stuff! Giveaways from blogs usually only have a few hundred people enter (instead of the thousands from national TV or product giveaways). Usually you only need to comment or subscribe to enter.
WantNot.Net
I’ve been reading Wantnot for about three years and Mir has been great! She posts all of the top deals she finds each day, especially for finding great deals on gifts for your friends or family.
5 Dollar Dinners
A great resource for saving money on dinner. The site has printable coupons, and recipes. I’m really impressed because there are recipes for people with allergies too (and since we have kids with dairy allergies it’s hard to find frugal recipes)
Money Saving Mom
Helping you be a better home economist – This site has it all, freebies, coupons, deals, giveaways, and recipes.
Retail Me Not
The best site for finding promotional codes. They also have local printable (with a cool Google Map feature to find things) and grocery coupons. I find this site invaluable for when I am about to buy something and see that they have a promo code box. I go to RetailMeNot and see if they have a promo code that works for what I am buying.
Craigslist
The best site for saving money when buying bigger things locally. We have saved so much money using Craiglist. We bought a race car bed for my toddler (saved $180) and a washer and dryer that was free (and we’ve used for over a year and a half). Great deals!
Consumer Reports
When purchasing bigger items it is always a good idea to do research. In the long run researching which brand and item to buy will save you money and hassles. Consumer Reports costs $26.00 per year, but if you are planning to make a big purchase this year I would recommend it. Since that dryer we got off Craigslist broke last night we’ll most likely be subscribing to Consumer Reports!
Groupon
I recently read a great article about Groupon and it seems like the wave of the future for local stores. In a nutshell Groupon offers a coupon deal in your area each day. If enough people join in to buy that deal then everyone gets it. It’s a group coupon. They don’t have it locally for my area but hopefully they do for you!
